Mets lower Season Ticket Prices for 2012

The Mets announced today they have lowered season ticket prices for 2012, lowering ticket prices to the majority of season ticket holders next season. In addition no season ticket holders will see an increase in their ticket prices for next season:

- 80 percent of seats will have a reduction of approximately five percent or more.
- 57 percent of seats will have a reduction of ten percent or more
- 35 percent will have a reduction of 20 percent or more.
- 18 percent will have a reduction of 30 percent or more.
- More than 15,000 seats will cost less than $25 per game.

The Mets have also said they will consolidated or expand seating categories in Citi Field, meaning that all season ticket holders can upgrade their seats at no additional cost. In addition, the Mets are introducing a limited number of full-season Tickets for only $12 per seat, per game, or $972 for the entire season.  The limit is six seats per account. All season ticket holders will have access to all club areas at the ballpark, however the Champions Club will become a members-only, all-inclusive area which “will have access to some of the best seats at the ballpark with premium food and non-alcoholic beverage options at no additional cost.” The Mets are also introducing dynamic pricing for their 2012 sing game tickets. The face value of a ticket offered in March 2012 will be at a price level at or below the level from 2011.

I'm all for these price cuts on ticket prices simply because its ridiculous the amount of money we invest in this team and they show nothing. Nothing in the sense that this team is contending and obviously without contending Citi Field will look like a Ghost town as it did it September. Hopefully with these price cuts we can see this stadium have more fans to enjoy and in hopes of a contending team for this upcoming 2012 season.
