Johan Santana will make his next rehab start on Thursday for the Savannah Sand Gnats. The Gnats are currently in the South Atlantic League's championship series, this will be the 2nd rehab start for Johan in which he is pitching in a playoff game for the Gnats. He is scheduled to start Game 3 of their best of five series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers and will throw a maximum of four innings.
It is all but certain that Johan will not return for the New York Mets this season, he could somehow pitch in either an instructional league or winter ball following the completion of the Minor League Playoffs. Santana, who will turn 33 years old in March, was 11-9 with a 2.98 ERA in 20 starts before have his operation last September.
