Mets Lose To Nationals 2-0
Mike Pelfrey, now 7-12 on the season, took the loss in tonight's game against the Nationals, leaving him with only one win in his last 10 starts. Both runs against him were unearned after 3rd baseman David Wright's fifth error in seven games. Jose Reyes went 1-for-5 and never attempted to test his troubling left hamstring. Reyes did not steal in a key spot in tonight's game, and Terry Collins acknowledged before the game. "At times, it may not be the same guy we know."
Nationals rookie Brad Peacock pitched five scoreless innings, holding the Mets to just two singles and earning his first Major League win. Mets were threating in the 9th but CF Rick Ankiel made a diving catch in left-center on a Jose Reyes liner with runners at the corners for the final out. The Mets have drop their last 5 games and currently 3 of them to the Washington Nationals. The series concludes tomorrow at 1:10pm at Citi Field. Tomorrow's starters are Chris Schwinden (0-1, 9.00 ERA) for the Mets and Tommy Milone (0-0, 6.30 ERA) for the Nationals.
