Reyes - 2-for-4
Harris - 1-for-4, 2K
Murphy - 2-for-4
Wright - 1-for-4,
Pagan - 0-for-4, 2K
Bay - 1-for-4, 2K
Duda - 0-for-2

Thole - 0-for-4, K
Niese -0-for-1, K

WP - Drew Storen (6-2)
LP - Bobby Parnell (3-3)

Jon Niese was cruising through five innings until he hit a wall in the 6th inning. Niese threw four pitches which resulted in three doubles and two runs. Mets scored there 1st run in the seventh inning, when pinch-hitter Scott Hairston took a 92-MPH fastball from Sean Burnett and deposited it over the bullpen in LF. Going into the 9th, down 2-1, Scott Hairston came up to bat against Nationals closer Drew Storen. Storen who throws as hard as anyone in the league was looking to strike out Hairston. Hairston comes up and took a 95-MPH fastball from Storen deep to left-center to tie the game at 2. That was Hairston's second homerun of the game.

The Mets finish the month of July with a 14-13 record and 55-53 on the season. They are currently 12 games back in the division and 7.5 games back in the wild card. With two months left of baseball, we will see if the Mets can make a serious push to the post-season or fade off in the standings. Tomorrow the Mets start a 10-game homestand at Citi Field where they face the Florida Marlins and Atlanta Braves. This is going to be a key 10-game stand for the Mets, I'm hoping they can finish this current homestand with an 8-2 record. Tomorrow starters for the Mets and Marlins are Mike Pelfrey (6-9, 4.55 ERA) and Javier Vazquez (7-9, 5.10).
