On August 5th, the Mets unveiled their new "Los Mets" jerseys in which they got instant media attention. During the game, many people on Twitter were raving about this new color and jersey in hopes it would ultimately replace the black alternate Mets jersey. For the 1998 season black was added as a team color. Black drop-shadows were added to the blue and orange lettering on the white and gray jerseys. A solid black alternate jersey with blue piping and "Mets" written in blue lettering trimmed in orange and white was introduced. So since 98, the black jerseys have been around for 13 years and in my opinion I think the Mets should drop it and add the Blue and Orange jersey as the newest Alternate uniform. A new Era in Mets baseball should start in 2012 and the newest jersey should be Blue and Orange.
