Mets (48-48) vs Cardinals (50-46)

Kyle McClellan 6-6, 4.24
R.A Dickey 4-8, 3.70

Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran's presences in the line-up show why the Mets needed there big bats yesterday. In a 4-2 win, Reyes and Beltran combined to go 5-for-8 with two runs scored and two walks. Reyes has been on a tear over his last eight games, going 19-for-35 with two doubles, two tripes and 10 runs. Jose Reyes is definitely the catalyst for this team and he showed in his absence.Beltran is also hitting the ball as well as Reyes, in his last 17 games, Beltran is hitting .373 with 9 doubles, 4 homeruns and 15 RBIs.

Today the Mets look to their Knuckle-Baller, R.A Dickey, to continue there winning. In Dickey's last start verse the Phillies on July 15th, he pitched decent enough but the lack of run support didnt help with the victory. With the trade deadline approaching, Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes will try to ignore the trade rumors and continue to help the Mets win games. We know there are plenty of teams in need of Beltran's services but hope the Mets can hold on to Jose Reyes, who has shown this team needs him now and for the future. Terry Collins spoke about the return of Reyes and Beltran in the line-up last night, “Our lineup certainly changes with those two guys in that order,” manager Terry Collins said.
