Mets shortstop Jose Reyes, whom the club would prefer to keep through the summer, has told friends he would love to sign with the Angels when he becomes a free agent after the season…While Reyes might look good in manager Mike Scioscia’s system, Angels owner Arte Moreno is unlikely to approach Reyes’ asking price if Reyes does indeed demand a Carl Crawford-type contract (seven years, $142 million).” - Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports
When the team traveled to Anaheim back in June, Reyes told reporters that "He Loves" it there. I doubt the Angels would break the bank to sign Reyes because they already have someone at SS, Erick Aybar. Aybar is certainly no Jose Reyes but only time will tell if Reyes is a Met in 2012 or elsewhere.
Last week it was reported by Joel Sherman of the NY Post, where he listed the the Phillies, Brewers, Giants, Mariners, Nationals, Tigers, Angels, Cardinals, Orioles, Dodgers, and Astros as possible suitors for Reyes if the Mets are unable to re-sign him.
