I can see this as a possibility if the Mets don't feel they are getting the right package deal for Beltran before the trade deadline. Beltran is the best available bat possible for a team trying to upgrade there offense. If Beltran stays healthy and does not get traded, I can see him on the Mets for another year or two. His bat is vital to this offense and next year with Ike Davis returning to this line-up and if the Mets re-sign Jose Reyes, the Mets can have the offense to compete with anyone.
