Johan Santana Update

Johan Santana was diagnosed with shoulder fatigue during an examination at Manhattan's Hospital for Special Surgery earlier today. Although he was diagnosed as being fatigue, his shoulder is otherwise healthy. The plan for Johan is to continue his fitness program but was told he would be throwing until his shoulder is at 100%.

Santana will remain with the Mets in New York for the upcoming week before returning to Florida. Santana last pitched on July 28th, tossing three scoreless innings for Class A St. Lucie in his first minor league rehab start. He is making his attempt to return from Sept. 14, 2010 surgery to repair a torn anterior capsule in his left shoulder.

Glad to hear Johan did not have any other damage to his recently repair shoulder and that as soon as he is 100% he can return to throwing. I feel the Mets are taking every possible precaution to make sure Johan Santana comes back healthy. No need to rush him back if he pitches this season or not because 2012 is obviously the logical scenario.

A) Santana has some of best docs around, so no, I wouldn't question their diagnosis.
B) Playing this yr won't hurt his chances next yr.less than a minute ago via Twitterrific for Mac Favorite Retweet Reply
