The Mets were shutout for the fifth time this season, losing 3-0. Since returning from the DL, David Wright hasn't missed a beat going 19-for-40 (.475) and is in position to match the club record for longest streak of multi-hit games. If Wright gets two hits today against the Nationals, he would join Steve Henderson as the only Mets with eight consecutive multi-hit games. Wright is 2-for-15 (.154) with six strikeouts against Zimmermann. Before Wright was placed on the DL he was batting just .226, since his return he has raised his average nearly 54 points and is now batting .280.

“One of my biggest concerns was that I would come back and do something to hurt these guys,” Wright told the Mets’ official website. “They’d been doing a good job of hanging in there, playing well, and I didn’t want to be that guy that comes back and takes two weeks to get back in the swing of things.”
