Jose Reyes said he does expect to play minor league rehab games this week before being activated. Not sure where.
Jose Reyes will test his strained left hamstring Sunday by running the bases for the first time since suffering the injury on August 8th. Reyes will do the cutting with partial intensity and if all goes well, he will up the intensity running the bases Monday. Reyes will be with the team when then play their series in Philadelphia. "If I do run the bases tomorrow, it's not going to be a lot," he said. Reyes is eligible to return from the disabled list Tuesday, but he is unlikely to be ready to be activated that soon.
According to Terry Collins, Reyes did a total of 440 yards in short bursts running straight ahead at Citi Field on Saturday and looked terrific. Reyes on the season is batting .336 with 5 homeruns, 37 RBIs, 80 runs scored and 34 stolen bases. He also has 144 hits on the season.
