Mets Fire Tony Bernazard

Today Omar Minaya had a press conference to talk about the firing of Tony Bernazard. I'm going to say on Minaya's press conference was poor judging and lacks speaking edict. He has used the word investigation at least 23 times in his statement. Minaya also took a shot at Mets beat writer Adam Rubin by saying he has been lobbying around the organization for a job. Regardless if Adam was or was not doing so, that is something you do not discuss over live television. That goes to show that Omar isn't professional in that manner and decided to take responsibility to defend someone who has been making a mockery of an organization. A 52 year old man should not be threatening players in the minor leagues to a fight. Let alone Bernazard shouldn't be having a confrontation with Frankie Rodriguez on the team bus.
Omar your willing to defend someone like that knowing you could be losing your job at the end of this season. You took full responsibility to address this issue. As the General Manager of this team, u mean to tell me you had no idea of the incident of Bernazard and the minor league players? It came to your attention after Adam Rubin wrote his story about it. I truly believe this team and its organization needs to sit down and reflect on today because your making this team become embarrassing to watch. I've been a fan for so long and to see this press conference makes me sick. There was no professionalism in seeing that go on television from Omar and Rubin. If there was a problem between them they should have been adults about it and wait till they went off the air. Now with the firing of Bernazard was to help lessen the problem with this team, Minaya has now opened up a can of worms with him and Rubin.
Who knows how this will shape up with the team having a two game win streak going into today's game against the Wild card leading Colorado Rockies. The less distractions this team has the better they can stick to playing baseball and worrying about the division and wild card instead of this nonsense.
